He went to Taylor University in Upland, Indiana for one year, playing football and baseball, and then for three seasons of both sports at Auburn University where he started in the defensive backfield on the football team. She then taught and coached the Suffield Academy, a boarding school in Connecticut, for three years. In his first game he was losing 50-2 to Paramus at halftime. Peter earned his stripes starting out as a third line player. Upon his departure from the program, Peter left behind numerous season and career records.
